Matthew D. Espenshade

President, Pennsylvania State Grange


Matt Espenshade was elected to the Board of Trustees by delegates from Agricultural Societies, effective July 1, 2025. A 1995 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in dairy and animal science, he operates Evergreen-Valley Farm in Elizabethtown along with his father, Harvey. Together they manage a 70-cow dairy herd and farm 250 acres, growing corn and forage crops.

Espenshade was elected president of the Pennsylvania State Grange in 2022 and currently chairs the National Grange’s Conservation Committee. He is also a member of the Wyoming-Lackawanna County Farm Bureau, Elizabethtown Area Grange #2076, Alpha Zeta Fraternity-Morrill Chapter Alumni (Penn State), Abraham C. Treichler Lodge #62, and Mount Calvary Church. He and his wife, Charlene, received the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Young Farmer & Rancher Excellence in Agriculture Award in 2005. He was named Pennsylvania Granger of the Year in 2019.
